And there she sat, in her weathered, brown chair, with squeaky wheels, the sunlight barely shining through her window. Her tap-tap-tap on the keyboard, now increasingly ached with carpal tunnel with each tap-tap-tap. She slowly navigated to her PANDA (an archaic term, meaning "trying to catch a HIT") just to discover, it had turned the dreaded, horrifying color purple. Which, in mturk terminology, means she has just lost her job. C-Sats Inc., performed one of the most dirty, underhanded, insulting tricks a requester could do: Joan has been blocked from completing another C-Sat task ever, ever again. With a defeated sigh, she rolls her squeaky chair away from the dusty, cluttered desk. She makes her way through the dark, cold room. What was once an inviting spare bedroom, now a torturous dungeon in which she performs her menial tasks. She'll return tomorrow, hoping, just hoping, she might get another qualification for another $6/hr requester, so she might be able to buy that new black chair, with brand new wheels. Wheels that don't squeak in disgust of the horrors it has supported her through on this evil, selfish, opportunistic, offensive platform.

Thanks I hate it.

 

Some of us in that 75% wish we didn't have to rely on mturk in addition to a full time job.

But I'm also not doing terrible...I mean, I hope I'm not. Some of my hourly is much slower than others because I'm old and slow, has nothing to do with the other job, lol!
