Ugh. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep my doggie.

She's at least 14 (possibly 15) and has: kidney disease, pancreas issues, dementia, inflammation...it's getting harder and harder.

Today, she was outside with me all morning as I was doing outdoor work before it became Hell's Kitchen out there. Kiddo comes outside after a couple of hours (dog has been running inside and outside on and off) and tells me the dog pooped in the living room.

She did.

And she just now peed, despite me sitting right here, next to the door, that I could easily open. She used to only have accidents (pee) at night while I was sleeping. Now, it's all the time. And she's once again not sleeping, and keeping me awake at night despite the medications.

I love her. She's still got some spunk left in her, she still eats and wants to go on walks. But, if I am not getting much sleep and she's using the living room as our backyard, and oh...when she is awake during the day she is FREAKING GLUED TO MY FEET due to her now overwhelming anxiety, and that causes me to trip A LOT and is getting dangerous...I don't know what to do. It doesn't feel right to put her down yet, but I HAVE TO get regular sleep and the vet can't give us anything else to help with that.

So she pees, follows you "too much", and doesn't conform to your sleep schedule? Sounds like a typical old dog. If you can't deal with that, you probably shouldn't have them to begin with.

 

Dish water soap is probably better

Which is further evidence that she probably shouldn't have them to begin with, seeing as she's not willing to deal with what is relatively typical behavior of an older dog.

They aren't puppies forever.

 

It's not like she got the dog and it was magically old, dude.

 

i was just looking up reviews to see what that's like, and this is... um. at least there's that.

 

Dogs get old....you should be willing to commit to and deal with that fact.

 

Are you volunteering to take on a new dog? It sounds like you really want a new dog.
