IIRC Both excessively slow and excessively fast reviewers are supposed to get filtered out. The effect of turking full-time is real. When I was doing that, I was a fast worker. Now I'm average paced because I don't. I'm rusty on the little methods that helped me like tab-spacing through surveys and whatnot. What might seem really fast to you might be pretty normal for regular turkers who have been doing this for many years. Turkerview also makes it easier to judge whether those completion times are unreasonable as more people do the HITs.


That's definitely not to say there aren't objectively unreasonably fast times sliding by. There are a couple people here whose times on writing/longer survey hits that I definitely side-eye. But I'm pretty sure @ChrisTurk(/staff sorry I don't know y'all) is fair with what gets removed when reported.

No strokes this week, but fell asleep a few times.

 

One attention check was like: how many pages were there in this survey? — If I can't remember the page count, that means I wasn't paying attention to the survey questions? ... ok
