I defer to your expertise. I've heard otherwise from someone who claimed to know something about it. That was a number of years ago, so things may have changed since then, or maybe he was just wrong, idk.

Anyways, I picked up on some of the paranoia, around the time some browser makers and web people were talking about HTTPS. I love me some paranoia, so I started avoiding submitting any personal info on sites that don't use HTTPS. (And I started "trusting" HTTPS to somehow "protect" me, which is admittedly nonsense. HTTPS is just a useful component, NOT a guarantee of total end-to-end security.)
