10/18 - Frightening Friday!

I really want to make these little crackers for some reason. I can think of so many variations I would like to try. I think I'll make some tomorrow and add rosemary and cracked black pepper. What kind of soup would I serve with rosemary and cracked pepper oyster crackers?

 

Potato soup would be good!

 

Damn I was sure we had to pay taxes on our winnings (because of what happened to a pro poker player from Quebec). I just learned that I should declare my mturk earnings as winning some kind of lottery!

 

the recipe said clam chowder or other soup like tomato soup. I think your kind would be great with tomato soup.

That's pretty good.... the best I've found is a little bar two doors from my house. It's my winter staple food. Can walk there in a blizzard. Yum. Not thin and lots of seafood and potatoes.

Sorry your Astros lost. Once the Brewers were out I stopped paying attention that much but I think you guys should be able to get the Yankees.

 

I think that's what I'm going to do. There's a chill in the air, perfect for a cozy bowl of potato soup. I'm excited now. Thanks for the ideas folks.

 

My husbands dad used to make the most amazing potato soup. It had so much butter and heavy cream (also mushrooms - so technically could be a mushroom soup) - but pretty sure that anybody watching their cholesterol should not eat it. Was heavenly.

 

I used to sell it in the bakery. I would add homemade cream of chicken soup just for a bit of the chicken flavor but it was thick and creamy and chunky at the same time. UGH Now I want to make some!

OK, now I'm hungry. My husbands mom in the Upper Peninsula Michigan used to save ALL of her bacon, venison - you name it - lard in a coffee can and his dad used it as the base of the soup. It was a heart attack in a bowl and absolutely amazing.
