Really? How far away are you from it? I have a google home mini & don't use it. My echo dot picks me up pretty well from all over my room

it's in my living room now. I'm going to be putting it in the garage though.

standing like 8 feet away it often doesn't pick me up unless I shout.

I also hate that I can't see the lights light up to know it's listening like is obvious with Alexa's big blue ring

Yeah. I enjoy the dot. I mostly use it for my smart home stuff and the weather. I use it a lot to control my tv and to tell it to turn my security cameras on.
