    It's because the times have trained people to feel that way. A couple of generations ago people cared about privacy of the mail and personal space and time. Now everyone posts all their shit on facebook. We are also now to a point where we have adults that don't even understand that there was once a world without the internet.

    When you indoctrinate people from the time they are 7 years old that email and social media are awesome and you can do all this cool shit by clicking your phone etc etc, this is what you get.

    As George Carlin once said. We are way to fat and happy in this country and way to prosperous. No one questions anything anymore because everyone has a cell phone that will make them breakfast and rub their balls for them. No one questions anything when they are happy. Americans have been bought off with gadgets and gizmos.

    It's the same shit I hear from my folks and it drives me insane. You're the cattle data being sold. Your clicks and views and likes are all being packaged up by these companies and sold so that they know what works on you and others like you to make more money from you. It feels dirty and wrong and I just get called paranoid for it. "Well what are you hiding?" Jack shit, but I shouldn't have to be hiding something to not want someone fucking sticking their nose in my shit and asking if I loved the new recipe.

    I also want to add, I love tech and it makes my life easier every single day. So I wouldn't want to go back to 1982 either. I don't take it to the level of a friend of mine who constantly Grinches about tech and all that. I think that people should have a better understanding of privacy and all of that though.

    And the thing is a bunch of research actually shows that most people love personalized ads. That you can look at something on Amazon or talk about it and you get those things instead of shit they don't care about, so that's why these companies do it.
