Well... for the age of the oven and all it's other flaws, yes. But we just did the roof and the furnace is making a noise that we are just turning up the volume on the TV to cover - so a new stove definitely wasn't in the budget. It's the button that turns the temperature up and down - short circuited somehow so replacing that is replacing the whole "oven dashboard".

 

There was some good stuff earlier today...it's just dead slow right now.

 

Ah, that sucks. I think it's admirable you're even able to figure out what you need to do to fix it, though! I just gave up on fixing our boiler today, had to call in a professional, so good on you for getting that far

 

Ack I hear you on the boiler - we've been down that road before too.
I guess that's a good way to look at it - we knew enough to figure out what is wrong and find the part, but it still ended up being waaaaay more than a tiny button should be

 

Yeah, I (quickly) got to a point where I had to admit that if I "fixed" it, I'd be worried I hadn't fixed it right and would risk blowing up the house. I hope you find a good/affordable solution soon
