Anything before that starts to get hard to locate. And the best way is to look at obituaries! You also have to do some cold calling but some people really appreciate it, so its really worth it. Once when the family didn't want it I was able to donate it a company. It was a guys retirement party and the company had been around 5ever. So they wanted to blow up and frame certain ones for their walls.

I've worked with hospice and had people pass away that just own nothing, one guy had a single card table of stuff, that was it. Peroid. So small things can sometime matter. They become the things that link us to those invisable ties.

Those charitable surveys can be kind of awkward. At least some let me explain that my charitable giving is determined periodically after careful consideration of the charities* and as a consequence, I don't make incremental donations (except from an amount allocated for "emergencies and urgencies"). But 50 cents of a HIT bonus to some random charity? Nope. And then there are the ones that don't ask for a reason so I just look heartless.

TL;DR - I'm heartless.
