06/25 - Why so slow Thursday?

Although to be honest, I feel like that in any rural place....don't watch those movies.

 

I have had nothing but pleasantry in AL. The back woods places are some the nicest people I've ever met in my life.

 

Growing up in the city, being in a rural nothing around area kinda creeps me out.

 

I would love to visit those places. I have been lucky enough to have been able to visit some different places through my life.

Sweden, Germany, The Czech Republic, Tunisia, Malta, England, Denmark, USA,

 

Out of curiosity, how is Europe, I've always kind of had this view that it's probably a bit nicer than here at least as far as living conditions.

When I lived in Europe, I accidentally ended up in a different country by train when I was taking a day trip Nobody even looked surprised when I told this story, I doubt I was the first ditzy american to get turned around on the eurail

Depends on where you go. Generally western Europe is nice. Eastern Europe is made up of a lot of former Soviet Union countries and are pretty run down in many areas. I don't know if I would say Europe is nicer than the States, though. It is all relative to what you consider "nicer".

Like for example, from what I know countries like Sweden, Switzerland, Norway etc seem to offer a lot more for a standard of living with more of a safety net than say we have here.

 

This is true. But you have somewhat higher taxes too but you get paid more at the same time. The safety net is bigger for sure. You don't have to be scared to go to the doctor and be broke because of it. But people think that is "socialism" and that will turn out like it did in Venezuela or they are scared into believing that.
