Hi turker family! Your resident recluse trash cat needs some serious help. My ancient laptop finally did the big die today T_T I knew it was eminent and was sooooo close to getting to the point of replacing it with something nice! So I need some help and suggestions. I know nothing about tech stuff anymore and need help finding the best bang for my buck Unfortunately I am essentially homeless, so sticking to a laptop is essential. BUDGET: 600 MAX I use Queuebicle for my daily work flow, and the furthest gaming I need to be able to do is minecraft. Suggestions friens? Mush love
What are your preferences for: Screen size(minimum or maximum size?) Battery life(any minimum?) Weight Touchscreen Keyboard Tenkey/keyless Matte or glossy display Convertible
Were you the one that posted the opossum facts a few months back? Here's my top choice https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-laptop-15-dw2697nr. This one looks pretty solid Another good choice. https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-laptop-17z-ca300-touch-optional-1d3e3av-1. I would 100% upgrade the screen resolution. Everything else seems fine, unless you want more. It also has a disc drive, if that's important to you I found this one, https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-300-series/IdeaPad-3-17IML05/p/81WF0007US, but the screen is not 1080p. If you have an external monitor, this might be a good option. Here's another dell laptop https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...aptop/spd/inspiron-15-3501-laptop/nn3501emzth. This one has lower specs in some areas, but with a better screen. I over looked your budget when I picked these two out . I'll post them anyway, you can play with the specs and maybe get the price lower. Sorry about that Spoiler This one seems solid, but way over budget. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...aptop/spd/inspiron-15-5502-laptop/nn5502ejreh This one is only a bit over budget, but the reviews are not the best. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/del...aptop/spd/inspiron-15-3501-laptop/nn3501eqglh Spoiler: Discounts and coupons I'm only familiar with Lenovo's checkout process. They offer some pretty good sales around any holiday and back to school. I assume you don't want to wait that long though... If you or anyone you know is a nurse, doctor, front line worker, student, military member/vet, check to see what type of discounts you can get. id.me is one place to check. Most companies offer a discount for the groups I mentioned. Rakuten or any other discount site like Honey, I think that's the name, should have cash back and/or some coupons available. Currently, Lenovo has the most cash back on rakuten, plus some coupons. *Disclaimer* I don't know what type of specs Minecraft needs, so I didn't really factor that into my search. I'm sure someone else can better help with that. Also, I am sleepy , so I'm sure everything above sounds crazy. If you have any questions, or more info to add to the search, let me know . I hope that helped.
You're probably looking at a Ryzen 5 4500u 14" Acer Swift 3 from Costco or Amazon, a 4500u Inspiron 15 5000 from Dell, or an 11th gen i3 Inspiron 15 5000, also from Dell. You'll get better performance out of the Ryzen 5 part, at the somewhat higher price point.
I agree with the above comment. If you have a Sam's or Costco membership, you should check and see with they have available. I would stick with an intel processor if that is what you are used to. Go with an i3 or i5. https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-laptop-15-dw2697nr reposting this one, because it's a really good option. Look for specs similar to this one.
Life got crazy and this got delayed lol. Sitting here trying to make the choice now but planning to spend a LITTLE more and am racking my brain
Ooo! Fancy Looks nice. Which model are you looking at? The only recommendations I have is when you pick the model you want, shop around and see if you can find something similar for less and to get at least 12gb of ram.
I honestly have no idea what I am doing and looking at when it comes to any of this. Holy shit is this stressful lol. This is the one I was looking at.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H2H89K1/?tag=thtv02-20
Get a refurbished MacBook Air. They're considered by most to be the best bang for your buck in laptops.
Ended up going with a Lenovo Ideapad 3 from walmart. Had to settle on SOMETHING or else I was going to be doing this for another week searching and seeing as how my current laptop is warping apart and has a very visible bow and doesnt close anymore.....
