I forgot to mention I'm also going back to grad school next year. Pursuing a degree that wasn't available when I went to grad school first time 20 years ago. I may or may not do something with the degree. I just want to study it. So I may "retire" and start a second part time career in a field I love. Who knows. But last child is starting college in 2022 so I gotta do something with my life so I don't just sit here with my cats, yarn, and television, lol.

 

so far the working plan has been for me to continue to do more and more people’s jobs myself as people quit and no one new applies until I physically collapse

everything is such a mess with jobs and housing right now. but it's been a slowly accelerating train wreck for many years so

Is the price of lumber nightmarishly high where you are?

Here it's crazy expensive now. A fence costs about $55 a linear foot now. Yikes. We have a massive lumber shortage.

 

Im impressed with my city. They are proactively trying to fix the housing issue. I live next door to a newly elected City Council Member and this is one of his passions. He's thinking way outside the box and we chat often about what I see so he can make sure he keeps up with trends.
