I've never watched that series. Will have to check it out. The music sounds great so far. Thanks!

Night! Thanks for the suggestion. Love this song. Led me back to some Bon Iver and St. Vincent so some really great turking music. Yay! See ya on the flip side. :)

But do you want a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket?? Is the real question.

Also - on a side note - I really loved Cake for many years (first heard them in the late '90's) - for their ironic, deadpan, sarcastic lyrics. It was rare to find a band that was that thought out with horns and included rock, funk - and sometime mariachi.

I hesitated to actually put them up tonight as their 2000's drummer was a terrible person (who went to jail) - and some of the 90's lyrics could be interpreted in, well - a lot of ways.

So here's some fishbone... still one of the most fun live bands ever....

Listen people can hate on me all they want for this but if you enjoyed the music when it came out even if times change you can still enjoy the music. I also separate my love for artistic things from people's actions in their personal life. People fuck up it happens. If we exclude everything we would have literally no creative content.

Hmmmm.... now I feel like we need to guess?

    Americana?
    Gypsy-punk?
    Indie?
    Metal?
    Heavy Metal?
    Quirky old-timey music?
    Punk?
    Pop?
    Blues?

I am willing to bet that whatever your faves are - we either have an album in this house or have it on a list we listen to. Not sure what the over-under would be on this type of betting but - I think we're going to win this ;)

Yeah - I get that. I just find myself definitely editing my sharing choices as I look back on things. I mean it's hard to explain "Cherry Pie" and Warrant and Motley Crue's - well, pretty much any song in the context of today. Doesn't mean I didn't have giant aqua-net bangs and a pic of them in my locker at the time. If you look at the majority of 80's videos there are girls in cages, and cars, and, well - if it's KISS.....

I mean, I think it's been the same through the centuries? Artists that painted the most amazing paintings or wrote incredible novels - or made the Cosby Show....

I could be wrong here, but probably overall it's a good thing we think about it a little bit more. A lot of this is really beautiful art, or has a cool beat, or makes a generation of teens wear underwear to school (Madonna :))... I just find myself thinking more about it before I post something. And that's likely okay.

You missed hip-hop and rap :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: but I can name something from everything on that list too. I actually have really diverse tastes but I'm pretty confident that a lot of my everyday listening would get some awkward glances :emoji_zipper_mouth:

I was just about to put up an addendum for hip hop and rap... but had added:

    Prog Rock?
    Opera?
    Country?
    Mumblecore?
    80's?
    90's?
    Motown?
    Grunge?
    Tibetan throat singers?
    K-pop?
    Musicals?
    TV Show theme song covers?
    Folk Music?
    Sea Shanties?
    Disco?
    Techno?
    Ska?
    Death metal?

    Am I getting close?

The only thing I can't vibe with on that list is musicals :emoji_sweat_smile: I grew up with my older sister belting them into my ear so I'm working past a little bit of trauma in that department...

But do you know all the words to Oklahoma and Wicked? If so you'll make a great teammate on a trivia team. :)

My latest obsession is scenecore and hyperpop because that's the music I've been making, but mostly I just grew up on a lot of underground rap. I wasn't kidding about the Tibetan throat singing though.
