So distract my cats so they don't notice I'm making them dance for my amusement.. :emoji_thinking: Noted... I currently have no 4th of July plans, so this theory will be tested then.

I delved way too deep on their channel last night and they did a response video to people that were concerned that the cat was not happy and possible abuse. Apparently Spaghetti (or Mr Dubz, as they also call him) is a rescue cat. And he loves human attention/affection and apparently purrs the entire time they do this. It's adorable.

I mean, he is not 100% thrilled, and that's why he keeps looking to the side with his ears back. He's scoping out an escape route lol. But, he's a patient cat and is putting up with his human's shenangins because he clearly lurves them. Bearnie does the same thing when I'm excessively cuddling him and as soon as I stop he runs off. I mean, he comes back like 10 minutes later for more and he's smart enough to know I'll keep forcing him to dance with me Beauty and The Beast style or trying to see what he looks like in a hoodie, but he would probably tear someone's face off for trying the same bullshit.

Cats are weird little things, basically.

I liked the stuff from the vet, Frontline or Advantage. Nothing else worked for us. :)

Awesome, thanks. :) I was leaning Frontline based off of what I've read, I just wanted to be sure there were no personal horror stories like "oh don't use xyz brand, it made my dogs eyeballs fall out."

I don't have any issues with the videos but fun fact, cats also purr when nervous! Or sick or hungry. Bearnie purred nonstop when he was really really sick, and there are theories that the vibrations/frequency of their own purr help calm them. Insert the more you know here.

I use the advantage spray on the cats who aren't allergic, the pill on Bearnie cause he's allergic to most topicals, and usually whatever decent quality flea med is on sale when I'm around petsmart/target/petco whatever so like Advantix/Frontline/etc. When it's colder out, I just use the spray on Skeeter since he doesn't need as much flea murder ability as the warmer months.

Inside or outside fuzzies? I have 2 inside fur babies and don't actually use preventative on them in the traditional once a month sense. I do have some natural flea/tick spray that I got from Petco that I'll spray them with before we go out in the woods or other areas, but probably not the best for puppers that are outside a lot. Personally I just don't like using more chemicals than I absolutely have to on myself or my dogs.

    Something similar to this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petco...--1/natural-chemistry-dog-flea-and-tick-spray

Edit: I should mention this could also be used in conjunction with the others since it's natural and all. Especially if you know you're going to flea prone areas like dog parks.

Just as a warning, that natural type stuff made Bearnie and Holly super sick just from contact with the dogs once and most of the "natural/herbal," topical ones for cats have some ingredients that are super stressful on their kidneys. We had to try a lot of solutions because of Bearnie having allergies AND being like a magnet for fleas and one of them made all the cats sick. So, as always folks, you should always test small amounts of totally new stuff before giving your pets a full dosage, especially if you've never given them something with the same ingredients in it. We keep the dogs away from the cats for a few hours after we give them their flea stuff and we are super careful about exposure in general because once Skeeter was literallt trying to lick the flea spray off Porgy. I love animals but sometimes they are uuber stupid and think, oh yes, that seems tasty and I should try and lick it.

Wait... Frontline and Advantix didn't work for my pup. I used the Soresto collar that is made by the same company and it worked really well but it made Max really sick so I took it off.

I have heard that Trifexis is the best. It does heartworms too. I am going to be going to the vet soon for him and I'm going to be looking into something like that.

When I used Frontline and Advantage he would still have a good 10 fleas on him after going for a few walks. Mind you, we live near the beach, it is very sandy, and the fleas are terrible here. So if they aren't toooo bad, you could probably get away with Frontline. I think it is better than Advantage.

To jump on this, last year when we really got ticks we put frontline on the dogs and cat, but because you have to keep animals away from each other it was such a hassle we just went with bravecto this year (chewable tablet) for the dogs since the cat never got any ticks on her and is an inside cat in any case.

Oh awesome, thanks guys, I was looking at the spray for the cats so that helps. They don't touch the outside because I live on a really busy road, but the dogs go outside (obviously?) and drag things in. There are a lot of tall grass and bushy areas, and I found a whopper of a tick on one of my dogs for the second time this year already, so I'm drawing the line there. The shampoo I use is usually good, but apparently not anymore.

    Interesting...
    Snapdragons:
" the seeds have been used to extract edible oils, particularly in Russia, while the leaves and flowers have been considered to possess antiphlogistic properties and have been used in poultices."

trifexis is great if you have an adult flea problem (if does eggs too). Senentil is great for flea eggs but not the adults. Both do heartworm as well. Revolution is a topical that is great. It's alcohol based so it doesn'tleave their fur all grimey. It does all flea stages, heartworm, internal parasites, earmites and mange. I think it does ticks too
Keep in mind, you can bring fleas in too. I get them on my pants (hell, had like 20 the other night just turning on the sprinklers) by just walking through the yard. You can also treat your yard/house w/ DE
