Anyone have Blue Cross/Blue Shield and try this new virtual office visit thing?

Also.. anyone have any clue why an insurance guide book needs to be 200+ pages long? Yeah, me neither. Aside from trying to make me say "screw it, I don't need this leg anyway"

I have them and hate their guts! Oh sure we will cover your pain meds but only 15/25 days worth at a time cause screw you Bird!And then repeat a variation of this conversation for every specialist and medication I have.

 

Like you have a video call with a nurse/doctor? Or it's an BCBS employee telling you everything is all good, don't go to the doctor?

I have Blue Cross, but haven't heard anything about it.

You've used the virtual thing? Is it just like a Skype call with a random doc? I kinda wanna use it just to see whats up but that's a waste of like $80 just to see if its useful or not LOL

I just hurt my knee, and need a referral from a regular doc to see an actual knee doc (..cause logic), wondering if I can just use this for a referral or wtf.. so little information, and of course their website doesn't work lol.

If not, I guess I can just show him my butthole and ask if everything is looking alright down there

@ChrisTurk it's 80 bucks? I mean I would love to avoid going to the doctor and sitting in the waiting room for 30 mins but wtf is video doc four times as expensive as my copay?

 

I have Cigna and last year they started a similar thing (ours is less than $10 though). I haven't used it yet but I asked a bunch of questions about it. It's for minor stuff that they don't need x-rays etc to diagnose. Chances are if you need to see a knee specialist then you'll probably have to go in and see a regular doc first. They'll want to do x-ray or mri or whatever to warrant the referral.

Idk, its $12 copay and then.. wait wtf, there are two options for 'in-network' or 'out-of-network' .. How the fuck do you end up at an out of network virtual office!?!? LMAO This is retarded. Ok I see, its just listed in the same place.. So strange.



"This new virtual visit option is covered as a traditional office visit under each Plan. For example, if you have the Standard Plan, a visit before you meet your deductible can total $59, and after you meet your deductible can total $21.40."

So sorry, not $80, between $21 and $59.
