Really? Okay because I have the opportunity right now to get one but it seemed all the premade ones I find aren't as good? I don't know it is like when you go to buy shampoo and there are 8597869. Why so many different components it just makes the market confusing. But it really does seem like you get way more bang for your buck building one.

 

Computers used to be more challenging but since everybody builds the exact same computer now, everything is very standardized.

You put whichever intel processor you want in one of the handful of boards that supports it, put the ram in, and it's keyed to only go one way, put your choice of cooler on the processor, plug the graphics card in, plug the keyed power cables into the motherboard, hard drive, case fans, and graphics card and that's it.

Probably the most challenging thing is to figure out which pins to plug the power button from your case into on the motherboard.

 

It depends on your budget and what you want to do with your computer.

If you want a netflix and emal machine, just get whatever dell xps 13/15 laptop with an ssd is on sale.

If you want VR/4k gaming, then you should build it yourself.

 

I got a pepperoni madness pizza from my favorite pizza place and cider from the craft beer store. I can't move either.

 

AMD Ryzen processors are a better buy at most price points, but yeah it is pretty simple. You can often even just find places that have part lists for builds at X budget or get someone to help you put one together fairly easily.

 

Mid-range gaming for my brother. No streaming or 4k. Like a 750 ish budget.

Yeah I was looking at some and was thinking maybe something like this, but need to research more i guess.

You can definitely hit that target, 1080 ultra/VR should fit in that budget area.

Maybe we should have a thread about this somewhere so people here can give you some recommendations?

 

The folks over at https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ have a lot more unbiased and up to date information than we do. And yes it is super easy.

I don't know what website that is but it looks kind of shitty. Most people use https://pcpartpicker.com/ for throwing builds together.

I mean we could have a thread but all it would be is me checking /r/buildapc for whatever the latest builds are looking like.
