Matt went to private school to boot. Apparently, you don’t get suspended from private school usually- they “ ask you to leave.”

He went to at least 3 different private schools.

my high school didn't really suspend or expel kids (why reward them with no school for bad behavior). it was also the high school that took in every other high school's problem children

My dad got suspended 8 times in 2 years and even tho he was a smart kid who aced his SATS, nobody really wanted to take on that (at least not the types of places he applied). He drilled it into me to never get in trouble and how if I did, my life would be ruined like his and I would never have a better life.

Sooooo, if anyone wonders where my extreme anxiety about rules stems from.

But, also have a pretty good life now. Win some, lose some.

Please don’t ask me to enter a store thru the exit door tho. Matt once dragged me thru the exit door of a grocery store and I lost it.

i'd like to say my dad was an dick, but he really wasn't. when i was young, i did a bunch of dumb shit. i earned all my beatings

 

I'm out of play for all those type of jobs now after the arm

 

Oh, my Dad was not a dick at all, but if I had a fight outside in the street I better win, otherwise, I was sent back out to win

It sounds crazy but no one could believe he got sick and died, he was that tough

 

Matt and I always joke that we would have both been better off with each other’s parent. My dad was super strict and had really high expectations for me and was kinda an a-hole about it, but I was already the type of kid who got good grades and didn’t really get into trouble. I got increasingly high strung over the years. Matt’s Mom was super chill about all his trouble making, and then got wine drunk and asked me if it was her fault because she never actually made him deal with his own bad behavior.

Oh well tho. My dad wanted me to get the hell out of dodge and have a better life and I do, so even if his methods were often cruel, he did manage to accomplish what he wanted. He’s an objectively crappy person, but he did his best as a dad.
