My Alexa constantly responds to commands that I'm not even making. She's been pretty much demoted to just turning on and off the lights now. Occasionally a cooking timer but 9 times out of 10 she hears 15 minutes as 50. Thankfully, there's only been one burnt food incident....

 

We have Google devices, every time a damned show says Okay Google, my tv pauses and shite goes wonky.

I know with Alexa, official Amazon commercials have some sort of undetectable high pitch frequency noise that makes sure that Echo devices don't listen and respond to the commercials.

 

I'm still looking forward to when you can change the name to something other than the current four choices... I'm going to rename mine "dammit bobby".

 

Can't you already do that with google's thing?

 

Man, everyone has one it seems. They really creep me out.

 

I don't have one. I don't really see the point in having one.

 

I refuse to get one. Fuck IOT devices. They are giant security risks.
