In today's episode of Why Are People Trash: I heard a dog barking in a newly deserted townhouse next to mine. A few phone calls later, management is in and a mommy, daddy, and 4 puppies were found abandoned in the house.

Upstairs, mixed in with an insane amount of trash, were multiple animal cages. The only one that survived/didn't escape:

This very odd looking cat I've now named Bandit. I used the @Hummingbirdee technique of sink bath + toothbrush...you don't want to know what the before was like.

 

You're good people. I don't understand how people can just abandon pets like that.

 

My complex manager was the good people. She argued with the police & wouldn't let them take the pups to the local shelter because she knows what happens to pits there. Her daughter is on the board for PAWS ATL and had transport ready for them within an hour.

I am so glad they were rescued.

It annoys me to no end when tenants do this. I've had to rescue so many animals. And one gigantic python. I mean it was huge. I was scared to death of it. But we called the local exotic animal store and the owner there was over the moon excited to adopt the snake and make it a store pet, and came out and took it from the rental. I am unsure what we would have done if he hadn't come to our rescue.
