    Thanks!
Thanks!! When I learned that Dark Chocolate was high in iron I used that to help chase all the spinach down - seemed only fair. :)

Chocolate is a health food and I'm just being responsible, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not allowed to eat leafy greens, on account of my janky GI and that one time I had to go to the ER over lettuce:emoji_laughing:

Also broccoli, but in my defense, I was already in that hospital when I had an allergic reaction to that, so it hardly counts.

Absolutely re: chocolate. Sounds like we have the same GI. I was once hospitalized for an allergic reaction to a cranberry. For some reason my friends stopped inviting me to Thanksgiving. Go figure.

As the forum can attest, I play pretty fast and loose with my food allergies and regularly strap on gloves and a face mask and hope I don't die making Matt-bot foods I can't eat. I think the only reason I had such a bad reaction was the fact I was surrounded by a few hundred pounds of the stuff at the time (food prep).

I do not fear death, death fears me.

I tried that and I still needed to get the damn iron shot twice that year! Plus, so annoying when you can't go thru a doorway without being invited in, ya know?

I cooked with cast iron for years but am a crazy lazy cook and never seasoned them correctly and always had to sandpaper them. Also they are so insanely heavy.... and turns out... don't fit in my microwave.

well, seasoning them is kinda easy. grease them up with a high heat oil like peanut oil, put them in upside down in the oven make sure u got tin foil on the bottom, and then cool it at like 400 or something for a while. and then NEVER wash them with soap. clean them with high heat and salt like this . that's what i love about them, cleaning them is sooo easy.

I'm a shortening gal for seasoning, myself. Technically, you can use modern soap on cast iron , too! I mean, don't pop the sucker in the dishwasher but a bit of regular soap actually isn't gonna fuck up your seasoning.

Those chain mail scrubber things are kickass, tho. Someone gave me one as a gift last year and I've used the hell out of it.

Yeah my husband inherited the cast iron pans from his Grandma (she was over 100 when she died) and he went bananas the first time I tried to wash one with soap. His method of seasoning is bacon lard :) - he's still a fan of them, but I'm a grill girl at heart. [IMG]
