Oops! Just saw your last comment on yesterday’s thread. Yeah they carry it right down the street from me at a store called Zupans in Oregon. A few different stores actually carry it close by. I’ve never tried their sausages but I’ve seen them. I do buy their bacon if I’m having company over though. I’ve made beer elk sausages before but I haven’t tried it with neuskies sausage.

Whoah! So they have Neueskes in Oregon??? Their bacon is the awesomest - especially the bacon steaks. Crazy!

Best way to make the Neueske's brats (esp the bacon/cheddar) are to put them in a crock-pot of (good) beer for at least a whole day. (If your team is not playing Sunday night football start the night before ) - then, about an hour before game time, throw them on a grill. I promise they will taste magical.

Then take the rest of the brat/beer crock-pot leftovers and soak some Corn on the Cob in it - and then throw that on the grill.

Add a bowl of cheese curds.

Honestly - the best sausage I ever had was venison sausage from my Uncle in Minnesota. But that was a rare meal.

I didn't even know such a thing as bacon-steaks existed before I spent weeks and years in Wisconsin. Bacon steaks are literally the thickest slabs of bacon you can get (for us Nueskes - picked up in Wittenburg, WI) and then grilled - like steak.
