Trying to write off a cash equivalent as a "non cash expense" is practically a guarantee of getting caught tbh lol

I am in no way a tax or business expert, but this seems needlessly complicated. There is no point in doing this for anything LLC level (or below) as you can just deduct viable business expenses (which this is not) in a standard sched c w/o the added costs/headache of forming another entity.
@Ana* where are we on me writing off my drinking due to low quality content message induced alcoholism as a biz expense tho?

Actually I saw that Black Mirror episode and put a post it over my webcam.

Honestly don't think anything wack could come from my webcam but it freaked me out enough to block it.
I mean anyone would mostly just be seeing a wall with giant Donald Driver and some Packers crap on it. Very very uninteresting. :)

I think when you cash out the CD's originally for personal income you will owe tax there.

Honestly @turker I usually over-pay for taxes.... especially because I am self-employed and my husband owns a business. Track all your expenses, have a good accountant, go through it and you will be good.

I used to be a trader on the OTC desk in Michigan. Also did a study in college on portfolios and portfolio theory... a lot of it is a bunch of nonsense.

My advice would be to look at your long-term goals, make sure that your investments reflect that, get into some reputable long-term mutual funds and go from there.

If you don't know how to invest in retirement funds or mutual funds I would suggest Fidelity, Vanguard or a number of other options.

Thanks for this... I normally don't do the facetime, webcam stuff, but typically don't have a problem with the voice work. Just was wondering if that was a red flag anywhere for anyone?
