    I had to go through this recently to get qualified for some funding to help with medical debt. I explained I was an Independent Contractor and showed them my MTurk earnings page, plus earnings from other sites/freelance jobs as well as my bank statements to prove income. My issue was that they wanted references and I do have a few clients I work with but you can't use Amazon if that is your main income since you aren't an employee of theirs. Just show them everything you can and try to explain that it is a totally valid income just a bit different from other jobs and even freelance jobs where you can show your billing rate etc.

    The main issue was every employee follows set guidelines. Perhaps federal law? Like - yeah no prob you're an independent contractor, but since you are we'll need a letter on business stationary from entities who you are providing services too that states the relationship of your work and how far into.the future it will persist, we'll also need this, this, this, and also this. All of which were completely irrelevant and impossible to provide in regard to mturk.

    Thanks (everyone). I just emailed them saying I work mostly for "Amazon" doing work in the data science area (I didn't just want to say Amazon because I was worried they would think I had an online shop at Amazon and didn't want to show it to them or something), and that I work not by an hourly rate but by a rate per job so I don't specifically have hourly rates or billing. I think that's as far as I can go with being honest yet vague. I'm worried they're going to now press me more or just deny the investment since what I said might sound unclear or sketchy. If they do press for more though I'm just going to give in and name mturk and try to fully explain it to them as best I can.
