But yeah, it's a pain and they get so close to her skin it must not feel very good! We've never tried shaving her before, I'll look into that! The one good thing is our little Kiwi is so happy-go-lucky she doesn't mind getting groomed because she's just so happy to be showered with attention. The not-great part is she drools all over herself and makes it a pretty gross job.

Woke up at six this morning to "This is the FBI. We have a search warrant for [address]. Open the door and come out quietly," blasting over their PA. They kept doing it for two minutes straight, like it's a recording. Kinda surreal when you aren't watching it through the TV. They are still at the house too, so they must be tearing it apart.

Definitely talk to your vet about it. It depends on where the mats form the most. My friend has two Persians and gets their bellies and backsides shaved. Yoda mats everywhere especially on his back so he get the full lion cut treatment. He really is much happier after. I think he likes being naked.

I got a call one night from New Zealand to let me know my mother was unexpectedly very sick. I booked a flight and was waiting in the airport the next morning when I got a call to say she'd passed away. That was eight years ago and it still hurts that I didn't get to say goodbye.

Modern technology, cross Pacific flights, all that is wonderful, but sometimes the distance is just too much. Never take loved ones for granted.
