    Ooooh, believe me, I've tried the walker idea. Nope, no go. She is being incredibly stubborn about a walker. She may cave eventually, but I'm more concerned about her falling again in the meantime.

    I don't think so, not specifically anyway. Her doctor told her the surgery for this injury would have a 50/50 success rate and most surgeons probably wouldn't want to perform it, considering her age.

    the robo-knee one i had (we called it that cause of all the tension adjustment settings and stuff) worked fine for years. it died a horrible death though awhile back and insurance (and its infinite wisdom) refuses to pay for another.
