And I guess that brings my hygenic brokenness I learned growing up. How many times is it okay to use a towel to dry off when you get out of the shower clean? 1? 5? I mean I guess it's ideally always one. Who doesn't want a fresh clean towel. But is it okay to reuse before you wash? #ThingsIWonder

I use 2 towels per week, alternating them.

That moment you feel jealous cause you live in the middle of nowhere, where there are no dumpsters to dive...

but then remember that you live in the middle of nowhere and there are no people to bother you. :D

My wife is a "use many times before replacing" type. I used to be a "use full bath towel only once". So my compromise was to use only once, but a towel that was about 1/5 of the size of a full bath towel. So we're about even from a conservation perspetive.

Man, I need my neighbors. I need people and good indian food. I stick by my urban roots even as a pandemic blooms around me!

    Heh. No, that wouldn't work.

I used to squeegee the shower glass down after showering to reduce water spots, but I've become more relaxed about this kind of overkill behavior in my older age.

The trick to efficient drying methods is to not take a shower or bath. Just roll around in dirt and let the natural microbes in the soil break down the bacteria that makes you stinky

I can see houses from my house... this is nearly unacceptable.

There's an indian joint about 30 miles from here... and damn I love eating there. And I'm not the dude who does the boring "Chicken Tiki Masala" (I mean it's good, but there are so many other wonderful flavors.)

Also you can hoard daddy long legs until you can fill a 3 or 5 gallon bucket. You can then dip your head in to wash your hair. The daddy long legs will make quick work of the lice you've accumulated from your dirt baths.

Stay tuned - On the next installment of hygiene with dan - we'll be discussing how to get rid of the daddy long legs.

i used to do that for the longest time, i never really got too into foodstuffs because the places here had locking dumpsters. but for many many years i dumpster dove gamestop and this local computer repair place that were in the same strip mall. i had (and still have) hundreds and hundreds of consoles from gamestop that i got and fixed and resold. when i got my xbox 1 from them i actually had brought 2 xbox 360 consoles i had dumpster dove from them a few weeks before.

The fact they tossed e-scrap instead of recycling it adds to the reasons I HATE gamestop.
