My day job is basically as a software product manager, and there's a separate department that is responsible for sending out communications when I schedule maintenance updates. I give them all the information and they notify my customers in a company standard format after I approve it. I'm working on an upcoming release, and this abbreviation was in the draft mailing list post they sent me to approve.

So I sent them a response saying "looks good, but is this a typo in the time frame details in your communications?" Answer, nope, that's corporate best practice.

I had to look it up, and I'm the one who wrote the communication being sent to the mailing list. I can't imagine how this makes things simpler for my customers.

 

Geesh! You guys are no fun today.
And 'Sir' should know that EPT is Eastern Pacific Time better than anyone!
