I had one of those and it was glorious (though I never used it as much as it deserved). I ended up gifting it to a friend because it was wasting its life in a drawer in my kitchen, but still sometimes I miss it.

Most heartbreakingly, I don't think my friend ever used it as it deserves either. Maybe some day she'll pass it on to a more worthy baker than we.

I made rolls today just to use it, I was way too excited

I had a really thin, kinda meh one that I used for years until I accidentally murked it while moving and I felt frivolous replacing it, so I'm super delighted. And it's soooo stupidly nice compared to my last one, I'm jazzed. No shame in not baking enough to lug around a massive marble board, tho, that just makes me the crazy one

I think everyone has me pegged, tho! All of the birthday gifts I got were kitchen related, except for the bot painting the cat wagon, so I'm rolling deep in new kitchen swag that I wanna play with!

 

Oh no, it was a marble rolling pin that I had - though the story would have been the same either way - I feel no shame in my lazy cooking ways, but every now and then I think damn, I could really use a decent rolling pin.

Not crazy to be passionate about something! I mean until you go overboard. Like have 15 cats or something...

I have no idea why requesters don't do research on how people feel about rolling pins with handles
versus those without. I mean, really! How much can anyone learn about 'decision-making'?
Wondering what you guys (you know who you are!) or anyone else thinks about this. I have no
experience, but I like the ones without handles better in an 'aesthetic' sense. And I can't help
imagining that they would contribute more to the 'becoming one with the dough' experience. ?
