    Yikes, that sounds like a hot mess. Not sure what I'd do with younger kids. Kiddo's a teenager now and can handle himself mostly. They're doing hybrid too but we're also a small town, they really made it super easy on us.

    I'd totally rip them a new one for that bs with a kindergardener. You let me know if you ever want me to answer your phone for you and give them an effing earful. I have 14 years of experience. :emoji_sweat_smile:

    I was hearting this for the sentiment, but here's your LOL face too ;)

    We were hoping they were going to go with the have high school kids to online-only, free up the high school buildings to have smaller, but managable in person classes for the K-1 or whatever grades so they could do full time in person, because studies have shown the younger you are the more in person time you need. But instead the administration hemmed and haw-ed for weeks and then decided to say 'F-it, we're just doing a hybrid for everyone model! Because it's easy for us!"

    This was after sending the worlds worst designed survey soliciting feedback on what system parents preferred for school re-opening in the fall. It was suuuuuuper obvious exactly what they wanted the answer to be (Hybrid) and it just kinda pissed me off.

    There are variations, but basically, they break the classes up in to A and B groups. Group A goes monday/tuesday, group B goes thursday/Friday, and then everyone is online wednesday.

    Or it's like A = monday/thursday, b = tuesday/friday everyone online wednesday for school cleaning (They love saying "sanitize and disinfect").

    One district here is doing a rotating 3 days thing. Where group A goes monday, tuesday, wednesday, group b goes thursday friday monday, then a goes tuesday wednesday thursday, etc.

    HOW DO YOU PLAN A WORK SCHEDULE AROUND THAT?!?!? WTF?!?

    I like that. That makes sense. The high school kids probably wouldn't care either. We got a survey like that too, I didn't think my input mattered much, lol.

    Kiddo has ADHD too but the hybrid remote learning actually helped him because he has issues with social interactions.

    One of the YC startups I follow was doing like "child experts as a service" monthly SaaS model and w/ COVID they immediately pivoted to "pods" - basically smaller groups of families who pool their kids together w/ the instructors instead of having the on-call app. I imagine something like that is gonna be the way of the future and everyone else can get boned :emoji_sweat_smile:
