    Hello everyone!

This is to inform everyone that we will be launching a Purdue scientific study tomorrow!

In this study, you will be asked some demographics questions as well as questions relating to your typical Amazon Mechanical Turk related activity. None of the questions will ask for personally identifiable information.

    Study Information:
    • Study Title: Demographics and Activities of Online Crowdworkers
    • Primary Investigator (PI): Dr. Ming Yin
    • Protocol Number: IRB-2020-314

    HIT Information:
    • Requester Name: Purdue Crowdsourcing Lab
    • HIT Title: Survey on Mechanical Turk Worker Demographics and Activity
    • Time: 2 PM EST, Thursday, November 5th
    • Expected HIT Length: About 5 minutes
    • Qualifications Required: Location is the US

    HIT Expectations:
    • We will submit the HIT to Amazon’s Mechanical Turk at 2 PM EST on Thursday, November 5th, and it will be active for up to one week.
    • We will need 1150 workers to complete the HIT.
    • The payment for completing the HIT is $0.85, and you will be paid within 10 minutes of completing the task.

We hope that many of you will be available to participate to help us gain greater knowledge on what today’s crowd workers look like in the United States!

Our HITs often get taken by workers rather quickly, especially right when they have first launched. We will be releasing new batches of assignments throughout the day, and they will be open for a week, so it should hopefully slow down enough in the next several hours to be able to search for it. Please let us know if you continue to have issues with finding it within the next couple of days!
