Nope. Definitely an additional, hidden screwup. There was no red squiggle, I thought I was in the clear

 

If it helps I was v unsure if it was all normal and I was just losing the ability to read. And I have 100% fewer toddlers in the house than you have, so I think you win this battle (but I win in the end, because ya know, no toddlers).
