    kinda the point tho. they were short selling the stock hard because of that and thought no one would catch on. and when it backfired, instead of taking the loss, they doubled down and shorted it again today.

    Gamestop had high percentage of shorted shares (bets that the stock will fall). WallStreetBets got a hold of it and basically memed it. Now, it's basically a giant game of chicken.
