I bought my first pressure canner last summer. I was so excited to use it and then I found out the lids got crazy expensive due to the pandemic. Hopefully it will be better this summer.

I hear ya on that! I was devastated because I needed them last year too. I put a plea out on Facebook if any of my friends or family saw them anywhere to please let me know. My brother's Mother in Law that lives 8 hours from us in Colorado messaged me and said I just stopped at our little store here and they had a dozen boxes with lids and rings so I'm mailing them to you free of charge! Happy canning! Made my entire summer!! I have some left over ready to go for this year

Our last food saver we paid $150 for the kit system at Sam's Club. I think we bought it in 2014? It's about time we updated but we have gotten so much use out of it! My husband is a welder and is out on the road a lot for work so he's out of state. I cook meals and then food save them and freeze them for him. Ours is still going good but would be best for light use instead of the heavy hitting we do with it. Plus it holds purees really well too. I cook pumpkins up and freeze the purees for making pies during the year. Definitely worth the investment!

 

I've been looking at different ways to store food. I may have to do this.

I would recommend it! We had a foodsaver before we moved and some one (fucking stupid ash hole father in law who hates us) yeeted a box and it broke. We've been meaning to get a new one and we might just do that sooner rather then later!
