08/23 - Moving Forward Monday

Mturk has always had it's up's and down's, coming from someone who has been off and on for five years. Peeps will help you with some things but giving out all secrets its not going to happen. It has taken me years of this to get to where I am, I busted my butt doing it. Every OG who has been around longer than me deserves every ounce they get a day. They will help, just not give you all the food they use to feed their families

 

And I already bought this sick-looking Speedo, so I'm particularly bummed about it.

 

That's just it. People do help. People help a fucking LOT for a competitive job like this. There is also a certain point where you are expected to start managing on your own. We aren't co-workers, more just people running on the same hellish track. If I see water first and there is only enough for me and mine, I aint telling anyone.

 

I mean everyone keeps referencing not giving out lists of reqs, batches etc.. I'm not even talking about that. There is literally nothing being discussed about how to find better work

 

Please split these posts as I want to the part where you point out people help to an unreasonable degree (100% truth) but also LOL your h2o metaphor

 

No worries man! I came off a bit snobbish for sure. I don't mean to take away from all the hard work you and several others have put in!

 

We are all doing this at the same time. OG turkers, small turkers, dumb turkers, and THOSE turkers. People share how to find better work all the time. I don't think I've gone a week without seeing someone get told one resource or another to learn to be better and find better work. It's about being around with your ear to the ground. None of the high rollers got there over night.

 

I think that's the gap in the convo though. Everyone is accepting of the immense amount of help all the way up until the "batch line" but that "line" is almost never expressed and today it is the topic of convo and that's all that's being put nito post form.

So yeah this is a community where newbies can hop in and learn the basics, get tooling that helps an immense amount that wipes away all the dumbass questions a lot of folks are cracking memes about, institutionalize the guidance process (reviews) etc but then a lot of OGs draw the help line at batches and that's all they're putting forth.

So like this is all the things you want, a lot of folks are just tossing out where they think it should stop being completely open sourced turking

That isn't conveyed as well as I like the point being 90% of the posts the last 2 hours are jokes about the old hell days and not reflective of actual "how it is now" lol

 

is this happening in other threads cus I do not see anyone telling anyone else these things in these threads and I've been here every day for a while now
