1. The forum & main site will stay up indefinitely after MTurk shuts down in case anyone needs anything. I assume a handful of things will break after MTurk vaporizes & I'll fix it as fast as I can to keep the two main parts of the site online.

Hey guys, I did MTurk 2016-2020 and made $20k total, I remember typically making $30/day and it felt fairly easy. Like if I'm online for 5 hours I'd spend like an hour of that doing HITs, mainly research studies. And then in 2020 I started doing gig-economy full time but I've been through 2 vehicles and swapped a transmission and countless oil changes, brakes, tires, etc, so much gas -- and still it's great for the evenings but during the day it sucks worse than ever. But anyway I gambled a ton of anything I could've saved grinding away at gig-economy, currently snowed in for 5 days, so I'm just sick of feeling like my vehicle is the only way to make money, or that snow can screw me so hard.

So for Spark, UberEats, I wait for $30 order and leave the house, do like 3 or 4 of those if it's busy. Sometimes I'll make $35 max that's all the orders I get other than $14/22 miles 2 hours commitment. So maybe when it's like that MTurk can keep me busy on something constructive, and maybe $1, $2, $3.50 doesn't seem quite as terrible as it did when I was rolling high off stock option gains, etc lmao. So, hopefully someone could read this and give me a little idea of 2016 vs 2026 and how things are? I guess I assumed it'd fizzled off, that making anything from research studies was a fleeting thing, etc but I turn on HIT Forker just to get back and see how it is, looks pretty similar?

Anyway tldr I'm Mark and hopefully I can stick to something like this, be okay with accumulating small $ amounts vs. $30 individual gig-economy gigs which is what currently gets me out of bed and working. I also have a lot of javascript, node express, react, socket.io experience, I think if I got really back into this, I could build tools to help me/others. I built a full user and driver rideshare app for my local city, brick-mortar map based clearance event user-report social platform, etc and usually I will do something to 80% and trash it because I can't launch anything on my own and pretend I don't think it sucks deep down, can't collaborate or socialize well or stay consistent with thing.
