06/26 - Future Force Friday

Yesterday and today has been spent trying to figure out which is cheaper, getting me and my shit back to Kentucky or finding a decent affordable place in Delaware. Keep in mind, I left a lot of shit in my old apartment including a washing machine and unrealistic things to take with me on a plane or bus. However, I did kinda start a situationship a month before my roommate that died went into the hospital. I don't feel like that's solid enough to stay but.... My stepdad doesn't want me staying here and I gotta make the best decision for me. Keep in mind, I do the same as y'all, mainly one small corner staring at a computer until I have to do a necessity errand... That's why I haven't been around. Not that I'm not still working just a lot less social after my roommate and mother died two weeks apart. Explain this one, he says his financial advisor told him he has to make a will so I need to stay in touch but also wants me out of here when I have only been here since Monday. He's 73 and an Irish hermit. I keep to myself and only leave the room when I have to go outside and smoke a cigarette. I did however find a great lead on an efficiency nearby. I also have friends in KY that will take me in until I find something and a roster of dudes if I ever wanted a real relationship.... Sorry I'm venting. It's been a really shitty couple of months....

 

so sorry to hear all of this. i can only imagine how it must feel to lose so many people close to you. Your stepdad seems like a jerk for wanting u gone right when you are so vulnerable. do u have any other family? its also good that u said u had friends that would look out for u

 

no. In your mid to late 40's your friends are the family that you create. my mom is the last of four parents (her parents raised me) and all have died since January 2016 when my father passed on his 58th birthday.... hell, y'all are more family to me than my actual blood family

 

Wow, you have no idea how similar our circumstances are. All of my family and friends died in the last 5 years, I "lucked out" when my ex-wife's brother offered a place to stay, but now I am stuck in a position that I am in a house that is total chaos and full of morons and could care less about me, my disabilities or my cats (or theirs either). So I totally feel your pain and sentiment about our mturk friends. I am totally with you there. I hope you are able to make the right decision for you. Just remember, sometimes the path that doesn't seem right may be a blessing in disguise. I am working on trying to get the hell out here myself, but it is so hard when everyone you know and trusted are literally gone.

I am rooting for you and hope everything turns out well for you and I will keep you in my prayers.
