07/08 - Wind you up Wednesday

I just did my first mturk hit in months just for the hell of it. The Sensory Root Account recording. Damn i forgot what those used to be called lol, but it was classic mturk shit.

 

It sucks that mturk is pretty much closing down, but if yall are still looking for online work, usertesting.com is still popping.

 

The wind up, and the pitch...

 

for sure. I've been on mturk for like 10 years on and off. It helped me make extra on the side but it is really winding down now. What it needed was some restructuring and investment from amazon and it never came to be. I was a member of other forums before where we'd share scripts and stuff, and it helped build a community. By 2020 that was gone already. I'd say mturk was on life support from then on. But even during the pandemic, i made good money because it wasn't this bad. Now it's just dead lol. It was a nice run though,, I'd surely miss it. What's keeping me afloat is VRAPI but they might even move too ( just a feeling, not a member of their slack channel).

I have usertesting as well but haven't checked in like a year. I think i made 10$ in total. Prolific is still pretty good even with all the bots and growing workforce. It's harder to find good stuff on prolific as well. I'd still say mturk was the best one out there at least for me (pre 2024)

 

I've had it with all these pineapple on pizza people. Heading out tonight to hunt them all down. Someone has to finally do it, might as well be me.

If you guys see this pop up, it might be worth your time. For Masters. I completed it earlier today (not yet approved, though). Took me under 45 mins. and paid $20. The set up was a little irritating, but nothing too horrible.
