Found the option, after rebooting the potato and turning it off on the more powerful computer, it is turned off here too, and turned off by default now thankfully. which should make things a lot smoother for the po-tay-to.

I do have to say tho... the potato has been a very dependable computer over the years, built like a tank structure wise, perfect screen (though it is a little slow on the screen coming up to full brightness) but it is showing its age. got my eyes on a real cheap dell refurb off of ebay, guy selling tons of them for $100 each with various stats (and no guarantee of the battery being decent) Even though I am one of the lazier turkers, I have more than doubled the cost of the potato in money earned from it over the years, and I've never had a laptop with a better microphone setup, which came in so handy with the ancient project endor 'ok ____ ' hits.

Is there an option somewhere that allows you to change how many posts you see per page? Maybe I overlooked it somewhere but I can't find it.

    You da real MVP.

However, when I click any of the boxes, no options show. I'll be patient and let you fix that but just wanted to make ya aware! Thanks for being willing to do all the work of setting up and running a forum :)

Regarding posts for page, I think it'd be swell if they were set to 50 for everyone, by default*. Since people don't change those as much, it'd normalize what people mean when they say 'It's on page [x]' and might encourage some newcomers to read all posts on a page before asking a question.

    * To clarify, not saying to take away the option to change, just to start it at a saner option. :)

I'm also a fan of the dark gray type theme. Zinc's almost okay, but not quite as good as MTG Dark. However, being able to properly post trumps this small nitpick.

Suggestion for the "About Us" to replace the lorem ipsum:
"Turker Hub was founded by a turker, for turkers. We are a community of works on Amazon's Mechanical Turk platform. Spoons sold separately."

Fixes: Allow editing of posts for a longer amount of time, so it's not necessary to reply to oneself. :)

Allow hiding of images and other media; Kad's script's helpful, but it would reduce bandwith for some of us to not have automatically load. Ie, from MTG's prefs:

    [LIST]
    [*]Hide avatars
    [*]Hide smilies (display as text)
[*]Hide [IMG] tag (display as link)
    [*]Hide attachment's thumbnail
    [/LIST]
Would also be nice to have option to hide Likes Received, Trophy Points, etc under avatars, so that posts aren't so big vertically. A feature request would be to the "Home Page" just as a link in of itself, instead of displaying it.

I have a very exhaustive custom MTG script that I plan on implementing most of the contents as feature sets for this forum (almost certainly last, since I need this to be stable before injecting my own work, but I'm praying it wont be later than this weekend). So hopefully it'll cover almost all of this as well as a few other things ;-) I'm not sure what kadauchi's script does but its probably similar given the work he tends to put out.

Kad's script does some utility stuff, like hiding Masters hits and what not. I don't use that, but I do use the wrapping of media in spoilers, so I don't see youtube/animated gifs, etc. I think there's a xenforo thing which simply switches <img> to be <a href>s, which is insanely useful to not have to look at the random images people post. :)

I should note these are suggestions for the sake of suggestions; if it bugs me enough I'll do an adblock or something. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do here: I think it's awesome you took this initiative. ;)

If we could get embedding support for https://gfycat.com/ that would be great.. I normally rehost my forum gifs to there because gifs can be rather large. This is even more so an issue with the awesome auto loading that this forum has.

I don't know if this is too full of lazy or not.. but I see those insert related links and I was wondering if maybe a direct link to things like hitscraper, HM, jr crazy panda, etc. Down there would be useful? I realize most people probably have them bookmarked though.

Would it be possible to add a Grinch thread so people (okay, me) could get my Grinchiness out and not on the mail daily thread?

There is so much knowledge, info and helpful suggestions just sitting over there- wish we could bring some of that over here. Can't really just copy it all and post it but any ideas or do we just start over with what we already have and know? I was just there playing games- posted how I hate to lose the games and my high scores, but then that got me thinking about all the threads in the help and requester areas... o_O also, there were only 2 of us logged in...lol

    This is done!

Haha, right now I'm locked in on making thread tools that'll allow for "work mode" & "social mode" on the daily thread to filter stuff like this in/out depending on folk's moods. I also have something bookmarked that might make this a viable & streamlined function of the forum so maybe :)

Agreed 100% on the vast amount of knowledge & content at MTG. Incentivizing that kind of content creation here is high on my list, but it can't come until I flesh out features and places to put it (moar subforums!). It'll come with time :) And the nice thing about the active daily thread here is it lightens the load on MTG just enough to be able to browse the old content without the site shitting out 50 errors LOL.

I was actually thinking about this recently. Who 'owns' those posts? As in, say, is the OP the content creator or is it a 'everything you post here is now ours' type of deal, or is it just public? Please select option 3 if you are reading this? I'm really curious though.

That's an interesting point to consider with the help section on MTG- because if it is the OP's- like say Electrolyte's- we could probably get permission from him to copy it to our help section here. And some of the other OPs are no longer around for various reasons- but many are and we could ask them, too. But maybe we should find out before the site goes down. I will ask some Turkers if you want me to. Let me know Chris.

So the poster, in theory, retains copyright. In reality the content is probably in some weird limbo because no one in their right mind would take forum content to court.. because how do you know who posted it? Who is hosting it? Who copies it somewhere else? Are there even measurable damages? Blah blah blah.

My objection to copy/pasting is 90% practical (I think most of the info/guides are out of date, or are incomplete) & partly moral (its a dick thing to just rip content like that without at least asking the OP). Sidenote, that was always my qualm w/ HN, but now I'm on the side of the fence where stealing all of y'alls brilliance is helpful.. soo, booyah baby!

Oh yeah, most definitely agree. Copy/Paste was never a thought, it all needs an update. There is so much useful information that goes ignored. So much work. Ha.
