The house is super old and the neighborhood it's in isn't great anymore. So, he's convinced it will essentially get burned down. I think it'll be fine with a little effort but matt's dad is, uh, fun. Dude has a couple houses he could be living in, but has gotten so eccentric in his old age, he is living in a powerless trailer from the 60s or so in the woods. He refuses to let us hook up a generator. He keeps a gallon of milk and beer in a cooler with dry ice. Matt was afraid to let me meet him for a solid year because the first time he met me, he yelled, "look at that fucking ginger dwarf!" but he mumbles so badly, I didn't quite hear exactly what he said.

It might be easier to sell the damn thing since nobody in the family has lived in it for like 20 years.
