My mom is too. We were eating Christmas dinner and the whole family is there and she had napkin rings with roosters on them. I just looked across the table at my brother and we just started cracking up. My father finally got it and my mom is just sitting there going "What, what?"

Everything in my kitchen is always very retro (really only because I like the quality and the design), and borderline tacky. I love french spice corningware because I think it's the most heinous pattern they've ever put out, and you just can't beat the quality of original corningware. I have old pastel pyrex/anchor hocking, floral pans, a bright yellow enamel stock pot, a teal table, etc. I have one of those old fashioned butter bird things, it's friggen tacky and I love to pull it out for company.

My great grandma Bunny was the same way. I just can't stand living in some weird monochromatic world where everything has to match perfectly.

Matt said he's never seen me as vicious as the time I practically fought a lady over a cornflower blue pattern serving plate in an antique store. Listen lady, nobody comes between the bird and a serving plate that matches some of my corningware. Back off.

 

She has a collection that is so extensive her house looks like a gift shop

She is pretty awesome. She loves to collect all kinds of things and arrange them just so. She had so much corningware too and the 70s yellow serving pieces.

 

If he's only out 2 weeks, we'll be okay. I was worried he broke his collarbone.

Hopefully, getting Varly and Barrie back will fill some holes.

 

yeah, realistically, they should be fine. it'll just hurt a little bit for a little while. hopefully he'll be in tiptop shape when he returns to make a run for it.
