I've just found out (like, yesterday) that so many people did not understand the context when I would jokingly call them "boo boo," and in fact thought I was being flirty or some shit.

Me: BOO BOO. IN THE BEAR SENSE.

Matt's friend: What?

Me: WHO IS GOING TO HELP ME WITH THE PIC-IC-NIC BASKETS!? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON ANYMORE!

Matt: There there. There there. I know you're calling people your bear friend. There there.

Matt's friend: What...why would you call a bear boo boo? I don't get it. I thought you were calling me your boo...

Me: BOO BOO! BOO BOO BEAR! GREAT! Now I have to go tell like everyone I've ever met that I've been calling them boo boo from Yogi Bear because WHO KNOWS what everyone thinks I've been calling them for my entire life!

 

Lol...Lots of moms call their kids Boo Boo as well- as a cutesy term...And our dogs name is Boo...Boo Boo Bunny to be exact

 

Odd, I use that term (of endearment) all the time, I never noticed any confusion.

"kiddo" on the other hand, some people don't seem to like but meh, fuckem

 

Thats surprising. I never watched yogi bear but im well aware of that reference lol.

Also your avatar was from that episode where Bullock left stan to entertain that fat asian hooker while they were on vacation at some cabin right? I loved that episode.

 

I call everyone and everything Boo boo or Boo Bear, but apparently 90% of the people I know did not get that reference and just thought I was weird.

Well, I am weird.

I also just really love Yogi Bear. He's batcrap insane, loves puns, and really loves food. I relate. He's my spirit bear.

 

I feel moderately less insane that multiple people here get that reference! I'm not sure why multiple of Matt's coworkers thought I was calling them "boo," in a totally different context!

And yes! @Melting Glacier made me that gif like the true peach he is cause I love Francine's sex helmet and was miffed I couldn't find a good gif of it!
