So growing up on military bases the people are very mixed. Lots of different races and nationalities, thats what I was used to

When I was 11 going on 12 we went to the states (my first time since my birth, and we left before I was a year old). We landed in the panhandle of florida and let me tell you my first real racist experience!

I'm white, dual national with spain/america. Most people don't guess I'm hispanic until I open my mouth and speak fluently. I made friends at my new school like usual, and then I made a special friend. My best friend for that time of my life, Keisha.

Keisha arrived at my doorstep like 3 days into us moving there and asked me if I had a bicycle. I was weirded out, and said yes I did. She told me to get on it, and you know what? I did, and so began one of the better friendships of my youth

but I digress, when I started hanging out with Keisha a lot more (sitting with her at lunch and stuff) something peculiar happened. When I went to sit with my other friends (white friends) they got up and as a unit moved away from me. That's when I realized a lot of the tables were how do you say, color coded?

I spent the rest of my school year sitting with keisha and other friends I made a long the way, but damn does that stick with me to this day

edit: missing half of a sentence at the end there

Thanks for the interest! No worries, I totally understand that they're difficult, which is why I tried to set the pay accordingly :)

Since I started the job I have this "addiction" to $50 min on turk a day after work still. Like it is part of my stay sober routine and like a weird challenge to not touch my paychecks and still mostly use turk to live on. Whatever it is I have going on beats going to a bar so I'll keep playing it.

Yah hey look at me give me attention

I was thinking about this story and my friend keisha, and I always try to look for her and I just fucking remembered I have a year book from this shithole of a year, and dug it out. AND I COULD NEVER FIND HER BECAUSE SHE WAS USING A NICKNAME AND I HAD FORGOTTEN

So I look her up on facebook right now and

    she's not on fucking facebook
