Howdy do folks!
So sorry for being late on this but not being in town wasn't in the game plan for EOY stuff. Seems site traffic was pretty dead anyway so maybe a good thing.
TurkerHub in 2017
2017 was pretty much epic for TurkerHub. Our community has flat out exploded, and I'm fairly confident saying we're now the most active mTurk community despite being the youngest by far. The features on this site & its extensions are helping to build a much more positive & profitable ecosystem around the mTurk platform and I'm super stoked about reviewing the growth of this site for this post.
Excluding December data (which heavily skews the metrics because of the massive influx of people from the worker transition) we've grown massively this year:
Which is cool, but not super unexpected for a brand new site. The nice thing is that its been a very steady, consistent growth across the year:
In any case, I just want to say thank you & I appreciate everyone who hangs out here. Its very rewarding to take a look at the site and see the data behind the growth that is apparent every time I log in and go "WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?" :emoji_sweat_smile: so hopefully the snippets above are interesting to y'all as well. I feel like the adoption of this place by users from all pieces & parts of the mTurk community is amazing positive validation of the great things we do here, so love y'all AS ALWAYS :ba:
Aaaand of course I'm even more excited for 2018 with TurkerView really starting to take off & all the general improvements and room for growth both sites have in store as they become more mature, polished websites (say 5 facebook prayers for every line of code I go back and re-write this year, please).
Now on to the meat & potatoes...

I'd say its a testament to how awesome our community is when it comes together for stuff, honestly, and I'm a fan of recognizing everyone involved :)

I just want to note some probable changes for 2018's Awards stuffs:
Instead of doing monthly awards, which largely rules out a lot of folks who can't dedicate a huge amount of time to what is often a 'side gig' type of platform, I'm (barring convincing arguments against this) going to move all awards to weekly honors. I'm hoping this lets more folks not only get involved but keep everything more fresh/time relevant.
To balance it out for the folks who are around a lot the Members section of the site will be extended w/ "leaderboards" of sorts for # of total badge honors (or whatever you'd like to call them) so you can still build up the positive reps across time.
All of them will rotate weekly instead of monthly now and will be included in the Monday stats threads. In lieu of weekly voting (...nightmare IMO) it'll probably be a balance/combo of HITs/Reviews Posted & Noms/Reviews for Gem Poster, the weighting on which I'll adjust over time like I did for most of the awards as I finagled my way through what worked in 2017 lol. Probably wont be doing weekly monetary awards out of sheer laziness (jk - in reality I don't think the money ever was a huge motivator for folks [which is good] and farming it week-in/week-out seems weird, if I wanted to do that I'd just go base pot split across folks by % of contribution not winner-takes-all. But most of all mixing reviews & money is territory I'd like to not venture into, and with the pandas now attached to the TV exports I'm straying away from it ASAP).

And happy birthday @Girl Polar Bear ... I think. Maybe. Not real sure if that's accurate or if @ThisPoorGuy paid you $10 for the MG birthday treatment :emoji_thinking:

Bravo to all. Glad I was around for all but three of the posts. @GreenMachine842 I'll make sure to be around the next time you birth a baby. I was (most likely) nearest to the birth anyway so that's neat.-
