Nah you read that right, I think my understanding of parent company might just be wrong. I assumed since they were the majority share holder that was good enough. Yeah just googled it I'm definitely wrong, parent company means it owns everything.

Thanks Chris, I've been turking for 13 months now but I have been relying on scripts of awesome programmers (PC,MTS,HitForker, etc) but I couldn't understand how they brought in so much ($150-$300) based on what I see available but now that you brought up this closed qual thing I see there is still more to learn. Can I ask you this though, do you think writing your own scripts is worth the reward? or are there other factors that also play a role like internet speed, processing power, ram size, etc. that I am not factoring in the equation as well.

At this point if I was brand new I wouldn't invest time in rewriting the utility toolsets (MTS, HF, PC), I'd focus on work scripts, and maybe some modifications if you wanted.

I think, for the most part, the utility scripts are incredibly mature and the time vested there isn't going to reward you as much or as quickly as doing stuff like writing scripts to be more efficient inside the iFrame or in other parts of your day. Its obvious other people are willing to work for you in the utility department, put your time to good use.

These matter to an extent, but truthfully not very much. The most important resources in regards to mTurk are the ones they give you:
page requests
daily cap
etc

Since hardware (except in extreme cases, like a crappy netbook or w/e) isn't the bottleneck in the equation its a poor investment, IMO, compared to learning how to maximize what you already have for like 99.99999% of people.
