@Eric E Hastings the requester you were asking about on the forum yesterday has an approval rate of 77%. I did two of those. I probably won't do any more. you definitely shouldn't do any if you haven't already. if you are new, you should stick to requesters with really high approval ratings. ideally greater than or equal to 99%. and ideally only do work for requesters who have posted a lot of hits. on this page, I think that would say activity level high near the upper left of the page. intermediate is probably okay too. but the approval rating needs to be much higher for a new worker.

considering there are still 14000 of the NIMH LBC hits left, I am assuming they are not worth it?

77% approval rate so it depends but I wouldn't. I mean I did 2 but I probably won't do more and I have a lot of rejection cushion from a lot of years of experience.
