@Spilota I am not a gamer. My last laptop, when we got the stimulus payment last year, was the Asus VivoBook 17. AMD Ryzen with 12GB memory and 500GB SSD. I wouldn't recommend it now because it's been a year but maybe the specs of something like that would be what the doctor ordered. Anything from the big names will work fine probably - Dell is pretty good, HP is pretty good, Lenovo is expensive. Those I'd say are the top three brands. Get as much memory as you can afford. Always get an SSD drive, no moving parts means they last longer.

Stay away from Acer. Every single Acer I've ever had developed an issue with the power connector which eventually made it unable to plug in. Just my experience. I do tend to be rough on my machines because three nights a week they turn into audio equipment instead of Turking machines. I swear I think all I do is work.

Not sure if this helps or not, others can chime in.
