I just paid 82.00 for for 8 gigs, going to have to spend another 82.00 . I have run all the tests to see if it was the computer but they all come back good. Maybe I could join a tech forum and someone could tell me what the problem is, cause this is driving me crazy.

I would honestly, just eat the cost now to make life on your computer so much more reliable and easy to use.

What is a good forum to join, where I could get help? Two of my roommates are tech guys, they build computers but they have no idea and keep arguing over what I should do. was thinking maybe an SSD would help.

An SSD will definitely help your computer's overall performance. I'd vote for that over extra RAM personally.

This is an HP small form factor- 8300, I think- 7 processors- the ram is really expensive.

A bunch of cheap ass Chinese DRAM is going to start flooding the market soon, so you should be able to get some decent prices in a few more months if you can wait. There is just way too much demand right now.

This may be more in your price range, but depending on your storage needs you should be able to find something under $100 easily.

Wait, people still buy HDDs for something other than mass storage?

It's only ~$100 for a 16gb kit. IMO the reduction in frustration alone justifies the price, let alone the time savings that adds up over even just one month.

My thing is that I WAS planning on building a new computer this year but GPU / RAM prices are retarded right now, intel CPUs are a cluster fuck, and AMD's 2nd gen ryzen will be out soon so I guess that I'll just wait :dunno:

i'd reckon there's a bunch of people ON HERE who use hard drives for their computers and don't know what a SSD is.

I'd say you'd be better off waiting too. Especially with the CPU mess that is going on currently. My assumption is the crypto craze is driving up prices on GPUs in particular?
