I am not getting anything good. I need to look into those extensions.

 

Others have replied to you in the past week or so, but just to reiterate what I saw at least one person say: it likely isn't that you need extensions to find more tasks and surveys. It's more likely just because you have a newer account and don't have the numbers to access better hits and surveys.

The hits that people use extensions 'to grab' typically have quals that you likely don't have, so though you've seen people mention those, it won't really matter until you have access to more tasks in general.

You want to work on maintaining a 99% approval rating while getting your approved hits number up. You need to get thousands of completed hits, while maintaining that 99% approval rating. And a lot of qualifications just aren't available anymore, so you may never be able to access some of the better stuff. Not sure where you are located either, but that can make a big difference too.

I really wouldn't recommend anyone starting on this site with a fresh account at this point, but if you are trying to do it, you need to focus on requesters that have 99% approval ratings or close to that and do whatever you can from them to get your numbers up. That likely means doing VERY low paying hits. So, likely not 'anything good', because anything good requires higher numbers or quals because the better requesters don't want data from anyone that isn't already 'proven' on the site. It sucks, I'm sure, but the site has slowed down in general and with bot problems, etc, I don't really blame researchers from wanting to 'vet' participants as much as they can.

I know you said you'd like to just do surveys, but with a new account, that likely won't be an option until you put in many many hours, days, and weeks, if not months. You might get the occasional survey that doesn't have high quals, but right now, you're likely pretty limited. I have an older account with loads of qualifications and approved hits, but most days are pretty slow compared to the past, as I think most people on this site can attest to.

You can google 'new mturk account' or something along those lines and probably find better resources and guides that explain what I was trying to say better. Best of luck.

Edit to add: You can only afford 1 out of 100 submitted hits being rejected, so any type of 'mass' rejection or high number of rejections at once might doom your account, so be extremely careful. Again, it sux.

 

I got a reply from this person, but is this a requester or just a person that is on the forum?

Feels like this might not be legit. I'll likely avoid, unless they're willing to post the hit on mturk or pay a percent up front or something. Just too risky to me. I'd also expect to see some sort of document beforehand, as this is a zoom call, so usually any type of organization (be it non profit, public, private, etc) would likely protect themselves with some type of written document and inform us of our rights as a participant...
