03/22 - Spacing Sunday!

i'm actually kind of afraid of flooding. The township has machines that makes sandbags for everyone. And that shit will totally fucking suck if they don't have the employees there to make sandbags.

Also kind of afraid - because flood insurance is through FEMA, and what if they go broke because of all this corona stuff and can't pay flood insurance claims? dunno how that works, but that would also be quite unfortunate

 

Honestly, I'd buy the stuff to be able to make your own. It's not horribly expensive, though I know right now it's hard to spend the money.

 

I'm learning about weather. might get a weathervane or something. or make 1 from home depot things.

 

We finally got rain but not enough to cause floods.
but yeah, there could be all sorts of trickle down due to this!

However, we always have the money to bomb people, so I think we can find the money to cover this. I hope.

 

the problem is, the amount needed isn't really feasible to do on my own. I'd need literally thousands of sandbags if I need to protect my house. The township uses machines, and puts them on pallets, and delivers them to people. It's a great service.

 

I've had what I can only describe as pressure in my chest for about five days now, but since that's the only symptom I have, I'm chocking that up to how my anxiety is manifesting. No shortness of breath, no cough, no anything else. No thermometer (because those are impossible to buy now too), but they took my temperature when I donated blood yesterday and no fever. So, yeah, probably not Corona.

 

For two gallons I just rinsed out milk jugs when kiddo drank it. For those I plan to swap out the water every so often just in case.

I've been meaning to say to you and anyone in our area -- if you (anyone) needs anything for any reason, lemme know. I don't want to force the whole... meeting people and being awkward thing, but I'd drop anything in a heartbeat to help anyone who needs it. I'm awkward as shit, but I'll help. I go out at least 4x a week to take care of a friends dog (he's still working through this), and my hours are what I make them for work, so it's seriously no issue to drive anywhere for anyone for any reason.

Honestly, I think we need to get @JayCee a thermometer. I moved hell and earth to find one and thank God above, I finally did. I take me and b/f's temp a few times a day. It is the most reassuring thing (somewhat illogical but extremely soothing for me to have).

If I had one to spare I would ship it out now. Does anyone have an extra to spare???

 

I agree - I've been taking my temp twice a day just for the sake of reassurance. It helps in a silly but very grounding way. I only have one unfortunately, and it's 6 years old and from the dollar store, so who knows how accurate it even is lol. If I run across another, it's all his or anyone who needs it.
