This isn't my money (already deposited my rent checks a few days ago, and that does feel good). These are all those people who wait until the very last minute on the very last day to pay before a late fee.

Then want to know why I'm a meanie and charging them a late fee on the 6th when, "It's only one day late!"

 

I always just turn on auto pay if it is an option.

All of our tenants can pay online if they want.

And sometimes paying online using a credit card results in a lower fee than their late fee. Paying online with checking account is free, but if a cc is used, the software we use charges a small fee. But that is often far less than their late fees.

I think only like 3 tenants have "auto" pay set up. They manually go online each time.

 

It's way more accurate than survey slinger

 

It would amuse me if a credit card fee was less than 2%. I would use the shit out of that but yeah I normally just have ACH payments setup.

It's a flat fee. It differs for different rent amounts. I'm not 100% on it as it's through the software program we use to track everything (repairs, rents, applicants, etc.) I literally have no control over it. All I can do is send someone an invitation to sign up for it, and remove their ability to pay online by checking a box.

 

There are apparently some apartment complexes that don't charge for credit card usage and that is like free money that otherwise isn't there lol.
